Readings

There are two methods of using the Total Yijing: the 'Autocast' method, where the program generates the 'Cast Hexagram', or by 'Manual' input, which enables the user to cast using their preferred divination method and then enter the results into the program. All methods have access to all of the functions of the Total Yijing program. Additionally, the Total Yijing has two levels of analysing the Cast hexagram:

AutoCast Options

• QuickCast Screen: which summarises the Enquiry and the Response. It is used for short question and answer sessions with the Yijing;
• Full Readings which use the 'Matrix' and Reading Review' screens to enable an 'in depth' Reading; and
• The Conversation Wizard, which allows the user to consult the oracle using a conversational style with multiple short questions and answers.

Results Matrix

This screen is part of the Full reading process. This screen shows the Matrix of hexagrams associated with the cast hexagram. This comprehensive display includes:

• Nuclear Hexagram
• Crossline Omens
• Steps of Change
• Time Cycle

All text and commentary is accessed through the click of a button. By clicking on any hexagram or transforming line button the associated text and commentary is displayed.

Text and Commentary

The text and commentary is provided Stephen Karcher PhD, an author and translator of Yijing texts and books with over 30 years experience. The version included in both versions of the program is new and extensively revised and expanded.

• Text and Commentary included is written by Stephen Karcher and is fully revised and expanded.
• Access to text and commentary could not be simpler. Just click on a Hexagram or transforming line number and a popup displays the associated text and commentary.
• There are also text and commentary lookup facilities by Trigram and by King Wen Series
• Commentary on the Ideal Form and the Shadow Site is alsio included.

Journal

The Journal stores all your Readings, inclusive of Question, Circumstance, Review Notes, Date, Category, Thread and Cast.  Readings can be accessed by Thread, Date and Primary figure for each person.

Threads and Categories

The program incorporates unlimited user definable Threads for grouping Readings and Categories for classifying Readings within the Journal.

Notes

User Notes

In addition, to Review Notes associated with each reading, the program includes user notes linked to each hexagram. User notes enable personal interpretation, comments and imported text, to be stored within the program. Additionally, they can be displayed at any stage of the consultation process.

Thread Notes

Thread Notes are included, which is the ability to store user notes on each Thread. This facility is useful when notes are required to cover a series of readings as generated by the Conversation Wizard.
